What is a school fence?
To ensure that only people who are supposed to be inside the school premises are allowed in, a fence is an excellent way to restrict access to the building.
How high should school fences be?
There should be a minimum height requirement for fences, which should be at least 1.8 meters overall. A fence should be able to compensate for different ground levels by raking or stepping as needed to maintain its height without causing gaps underneath.
Why are there fences around schools?
The school fencing is one of several security measures designed to keep intruders out and children safe within. Besides well-designed fences and strong materials, a well-built fence also prevents any breach, whether it is a criminal climbing over it or anything else, from occurring.
Why do schools have green fences?
New school streets and low-traffic neighbourhoods are complemented with green screens at schools. This reduces through traffic and encourages people to walk, bike, or take the bus for short trips instead of driving.
Can schools have spikes on fences?
School fences can be fitted with security toppings without any legal restrictions or strict rules as far as their installation is concerned. It is recommended that the fence be at least two metres high to avoid accidental contact with the spikes.
Can we get funding for a school fence?
The government may offer funds to assist schools with upgrading perimeter security to a level commensurate with the relationship between the school and the student.
