As standard, chain link is available in a galvanised finish, black coated or green coated.

Chain link can be erected on timber, concrete or steel posts.  Steel posts can be box section, angle section or circular hollow section.   They can be; galvanised, powder coated or painted.  Timber and steel posts can be driven into the ground or concreted into the ground – it depends on your application and budget.

As a general rule of thumb, timber posts are the least expensive, but their lifespan can be expected to be shorter than that of concrete or galvanised steel posts.  All timber is pressure treated to British Standard and normally gives the post a reasonable life span.  Concrete posts are more expensive, but their life span and robustness is worth the money – often the chain link needs replacing before the posts.

British Standard states that posts should be placed in the ground at 3m centres, but where the design includes a top rail the post centres would be less – often 1.8m.

Of course gates are available to match.

Anti Intruder measures are applicable to chain link
